Educational Qualifications: • Post Graduate Degree in English Language and Literature with not less than 50% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto. • M.Ed Degree with not less than 50% marks with specialization in Language Education or Methods of Teaching English from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto. Experience Required: Not less than 3 years regular teaching experience as Teacher Educator in Government Teacher Training Institutes / Primary School Teacher / High School Teacher / Higher Secondary School Teacher / Vocational Higher Secondary School Teacher in Kerala. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part II Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable. UGC recognized degrees/diplomas through regular study mode are applicable.

How the age check works

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.

With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Worked examples

For a 2025 post with the range 18–36 (born 02.01.1989 – 01.01.2007).

What the checker does not decide

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
