Educational Qualifications: • A pass in SSLC Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala or its equivalent. • A pass in Pre-degree examination conducted by any of the Universities in Kerala or any examination recognized by any such Universities in Kerala as equivalent to Pre-degree examination. • A pass in Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or any other Examination recognized by Government as equivalent thereto. • A pass in TTC Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala (D.Ed/D.El.Ed is also considered). Technical Qualifications: • Must have passed the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) for this post conducted by the Government of Kerala. Experience Required: 5 years service as Clerk/Typist/Attender/Office Attendant/Full Time Menial in the General Education Department as on the date of application. Physical Standards: Not applicable Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS & SSR part II Rule 10 a (ii) is applicable. B.Ed will not be accepted in lieu of TTC qualification. Candidates who have not studied Malayalam as a subject or medium of instruction in SSLC are not eligible.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict.
