18-39. Candidates must be born between 02.01.1984 and 01.01.2005 (both dates included). Usual age relaxations under Part II, Rule 2(i) of General Conditions are applicable.

Educational Qualifications: • Pass in SSLC or equivalent examination. Physical Standards: Minimum 150 cm height. Vision standards: Must be certified to possess visual standards specified without glasses (Distant Vision: Right Eye 6/6 Snellen, Left Eye 6/6 Snellen; Near Vision: Right Eye 0.5 Snellen, Left Eye 0.5 Snellen). Must be free from colour blindness, squint, or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids. Must be free from physical deformities like knock-knee, flat-foot, varicose vein, bow-legs, deformed hands and limbs, Hare lip, oversized teeth, squint, defective speech and hearing. Must qualify in at least 5 out of 8 events of the National Physical Efficiency Test at the One Star standard. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: [KS & SSR Part II Rule 10(a) (ii) is applicable.]

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
