(For other age relaxations please refer Part II of General Conditions). For employees in Technical Education Department, maximum upper age limit shall be up to 50 years with an additional relaxation equivalent to length of service up to 10 years.

Educational Qualifications: • Three years Regular Diploma in Engineering / Technology in the relevant branch awarded by a University or Government recognized after a regular course of study. (GO(P)No.503/2012/H.Edn. Dated 12.10.2012) Physical Standards: Blind candidates are not eligible to apply for this post. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS & SSR Part-II Rule 10(a) (ii) is applicable. Government Orders equivalent/higher qualifications shall be produced at the time of certificate verification.

How the age check works

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.

With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

For a 2025 post with the range 18–36 (born 02.01.1989 – 01.01.2007).

What the checker does not decide

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
