Educational Qualifications: • SSLC or its equivalent examination recognised by Government of India or Government of Kerala. Technical Qualifications: • All candidates must have a valid motor driving licence endorsed for all types of transport vehicles (LMV, HGMV, HPMV) • Proficiency in driving will be tested by a Practical Test conducted by PSC. Experience Required: Experience of not less than 3 years in driving motor vehicles. Physical Standards: Height – Minimum of 168 cms (160 cm for SC/ST candidates). Chest (Normal) – Minimum of 81 cms. Chest (on expansion) – Minimum of 86 cms (Minimum chest expansion of 5 cms required; no relaxation in chest expansion for SC/ST). Must qualify in any of the Five events out of the Eight events specified of the National Physical Efficiency one star standard test. Must possess medical standards: Hearing should be perfect, visual standards without glass (Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen, Colour Vision Normal, Night Blindness Nil), no paralysis, all joints with free movements, nervous system perfectly normal. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)ii of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
