25 - 36; Only candidates born between 02.01.1981 and 01.01.1992 (both dates included) only are eligible to apply for this post. Usual age relaxations apply for Other Backward Communities and SC/ST candidates as per rule 10(c) of part II of KS&SSR 1958.

Educational Qualifications: • SSLC or its equivalent examination recognised by Government of India or Government of Kerala. Technical Qualifications: • Valid motor boat driving license issued by competent authority to drive motor boat. • Basic knowledge in motor boat engine mechanism and the ability to carry out minor repairs. Experience Required: Experience for not less than three years as Boat Driver. Physical Standards: Height: Minimum 168 cms (160 cms for SC/ST candidates). Chest (Normal): Minimum 81 cms. Chest expansion: Minimum 5 cms. Must qualify in any of the Five events out of the Eight events specified of the National Physical Efficiency one star standard test. Medical standards: Perfect hearing, visual standards (Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen, Colour Vision Normal, Night Blindness Nil without glass), no paralysis, free movements of all joints, normal nervous system, full field of vision. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)ii of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
