Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Must have passed SSLC or equivalent qualification. Technical Qualifications: • Must undergo training for not less than 6 weeks in International Code Signalling and Flags. • Must undergo training for not less than 6 weeks in Light Keeper and Signaller duties. • Must undergo training for not less than 6 weeks in handling 'AGA' Acetylene lights at the Light House Workshop of the Government of India. Experience Required: None specified, but training is mandatory during the probation period. Physical Standards: Must possess the prescribed visual standards: Distant Vision (Right/Left Eye: 6/6 Snellen), Near Vision (Right/Left Eye: 0.6 Snellen). Must be free from squint, morbid conditions of the eye or eyelids (e.g., Trachoma), and must possess the ability to distinguish principal colors. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part II Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable.
