Age limit

25-36. Candidates must be born between 02.01.1986 and 01.01.1997 (both dates included). Usual age relaxations for Other Backward Classes, SC/ST as per KS&SSR Part II Rule 10(c) apply, subject to a maximum upper age limit of 50 (fifty) years. Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Pass in SSLC or equivalent examination recognized by the Government of India or Government of Kerala. Technical Qualifications: • Possession of valid Motor Driving License for driving Motor Boats. • Practical knowledge of Motor Boat engine mechanism and ability to clear small defects. Experience Required: Not less than 3 years practical experience as Boat Driver. Physical Standards: Height: Minimum 168 cm (Minimum 160 cm for SC/ST candidates). Chest: Minimum 81 cm with minimum expansion of 5 cm (5 cm expansion rule not applicable for SC/ST candidates). Physical Efficiency Test: Must pass at least 5 out of 8 events under the One Star standard for men in the National Physical Efficiency Test. Swimming proficiency: Must swim 50 meters within 2 minutes and ability to float in deep water for 2 minutes. Medical Standards: Good hearing, vision standards without glasses (Distant Vision: Right Eye 6/6 Snellen, Left Eye 6/6 Snellen; Near Vision: Right Eye 0.5 Snellen, Left Eye 0.5 Snellen; Color vision: Normal; Night blindness: Nil), and freedom from bodily defects/diseases. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part II Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable. Equivalency orders must be produced if claimed.

Appointments are made based on district-wise rank lists. Candidates selected as Forest Boat Drivers through direct recruitment shall undergo training for not more than 3 months in a Forest Training School as directed by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests. Probation and other service conditions are governed by KS&SSR and government orders.
