Who can apply

Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of Police Constable (Band/Bugler/Drummer) in Police (Band Unit). Category No: 419/2025. Vacancies: Statewide - 108 (One Hundred and Eight). Scale of Pay: ₹ 31,100 - 66,800/-. Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment. Applications must be submitted online on or before 03-12-2025 through Kerala PSC One Time Registration.

Age limit

18-26. Candidates born between 02.01.1999 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included) only are eligible to apply for this post. Upper age limit is relaxed up to 29 years for OBC, 31 years for SC/ST, 41 years for Ex-servicemen, and up to 5 years for those with horse riding experience in Indian Armed Forces/Central Armed Police Forces/National Police Academy or Mounted Police Units. Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Must have passed Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent. Technical Qualifications: • Must have minimum one year experience in playing Band, Bugle, Drum and allied musical instruments of Police Band Unit from a Firm/Institution/Band Troop having registration under State/Central Government. Experience Required: Minimum one year experience in playing Band, Bugle, Drum and allied musical instruments of Police Band Unit from a Firm/Institution/Band Troop having registration under State/Central Government, acquired after obtaining basic qualifications. Physical Standards: Height: Minimum 168 cm (161 cm for SC/ST). Chest: Minimum 81 cm with 5 cm expansion (76 cm with 5 cm expansion for SC/ST). Physical Efficiency Test: Must qualify in any 5 events out of 8 items of national physical efficiency one star standard test. Vision Standards: Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen without glasses. Must be free from apparent physical defects like knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, bow legs, deformed limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing, color blindness, and squint. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of the KS&SSR is applicable. Government Orders regarding equivalent/higher qualifications shall be produced when called for.
General conditions from the notification
The rules relating to reservation of appointment contained in rules 14 to 17 of Part II of the KS&SSR 1958 shall apply. Every person appointed shall be on probation for two years on duty within a continuous period of three years and must undergo 9 months pre-service training and execute a security bond.
